SHORT LENS - CAPE NATURALISTE

This photographic tour and workshop around Dunsburough with Len Metcalf will be an unforgettable experience. Full of unique coastal opportunities and stunning wildflowers. Early spring is the time to see this area, as it is still quiet yet the flowers are already out. We will photograph rugged seascapes through to gentle beaches.

We pick you in Perth at mid day. Enough time to fly in from elsewhere. And drive you to Eagle Bay near Dunsburough. We arrive early enough to settle in, and then head out for a sunset photographic shoot just before dinner. Whilst being in the Margaret River region, we get to enjoy sumptuous fresh local produce.

This is the perfect time of year for wildflowers.

A TYPICAL DAY

We are up pre dawn and off shooting at a location near our accommodation to enjoy the sunrise colours. We often return home for breakfast, though some days we may be served breakfast in the field or visit a local coffee shop. If there is something on offer to photograph we photograph up till mid morning. Where we return to our accommodation for lunch. Lunch often comes with an inspiring photographic presentation by Len, and time to learn specific techniques that might be limiting your photography. We often have enough time in the day for a short afternoon nap, before heading out to photograph in the evening light. Dinner is often followed by a printing and critique session. Our days are planned by Len, around the local photographic opportunities and timing accordingly to be in the right place at just the right time. Six full days shooting is long enough to become totally immersed in your photography, but also short enough to not become overly exhausted. It is the perfect length, and combines a tour and workshop format together to inspire, develop and nurture your photography.

TESTIMONIALS

“I wanted to write and thank you so very much for a truly wonderful week. We saw Cradle Mountain in all its weather systems and you made sure we were all able to capture its uniqueness. It is certainly a stunning part of the country and the world and I was so thrilled to finally make it there after years of wishing! You were such a fabulous tour leader and looked after us so so so well!!! I never saw you show any sign of anything other than care and concern. Thank you! It was a wonderful tour and a great group. We certainly experienced some fantastic wildlife and some stunning scenery. The weather was fabulous and to have had the chance to experience the frost and that special fog / mist rising was amazing! I just hope I have a few photos to do it justice. It was lovely to get to know you better and to have the opportunity to have so many great chats. Thank you for being so attentive and supportive and for your guidance and advice both when taking photos and when processing them. I learnt so much. I just need to write a lot of it down so that I don’t forget it! I have been able to upload all of my photos which is wonderful. I loved seeing you fly your way around Lightroom and absolutely adored your processed images! WOW!!!!! Just stunning! You must have been thrilled! Looking forward to seeing you next week. Again, thank you for such a brilliant experience! Kind regards,”
