Terms and conditions

1.  Payment options

To confirm your booking we require a deposit payable via our website.  The deposit amount will vary between courses, workshops and tours so please read carefully through the information available on the web page for each offering.

The balance is due 8 weeks (56 days) prior to your program.  We prefer payment by direct deposit.  Cheques in Australian dollars are also accepted.

2.  Cancellation and Refund Policy

All deposits and workshop or tour fees are non-refundable.

Len’s School is a very small business and relies on bookings for planning out the year and Len’s income. Your booking is your promise to go ahead with the workshop, we hold for you your place, and book venues and staff based on bookings. Deposits are your booking fee and are treated as such.

For cancellations up to two months before the start date of your program you will forfeit your deposit (booking fee).

For cancellations within two months of the start date of your program you will forfeit the full fee payable.

In the event that Len’s School is required to cancel a course, workshop or tour we will endeavour to reschedule the program on a date that suits all participants.  If this is not possible we will offer participants an alternative program to the same value.  Credits and refunds will be given at the discretion of Len’s School.  Len’s School is not in any way liable for any personal costs associated with the cancellation.

Under some exceptional circumstances tours or workshops may be cancelled or terminated without notice or during the program.  Len’s School will relocate or reschedule as necessary.  Credits and refunds will be given at the discretion of Len’s School.

3.  Losses and damages

Please take responsibility for your personal equipment.  Len’s School is not liable for equipment damages or losses (including theft) during your course, workshop or tour. This includes damage to equipment whilst following procedures outlined during the course. Damages may include but are not limited to: sensor, camera and lens cleaning. If in doubt pay an expert to perform these delicate operations on your valuable equipment. Len's School recommends having your photographic equipment insured during the workshop.

4.  Limitation of Liability

Len’s School is not liable for any extraneous expenses relating to your booking with us.  While Len’s School will take all reasonable measures to keep you informed and relocate or reschedule any programs affected by unforeseen circumstances, we will take no responsibility for costs incurred when this is impossible.

Our programs may be affected by weather, fire, flood, theft, criminal activity, political disputes, acts of terrorism, strikes, sickness, failure of flights or other transportation to arrive or depart on time, and other causes beyond our control.

Costs may include but are not limited to: cancellations, missing connecting transport, extra accommodation or food expenses.

5.  Acknowledgement of Risk

Photography and outdoor activities possess inherent risks, as detailed in our waiver form.

It is a condition of attendance on Len’s School programs that all tour and workshop participants complete and submit an acknowledgement of risk, waiver of liability and medical form.

If in doubt about your health or fitness please contact Len to discuss the requirements and consult your physician for advice.

6.  Transport, accommodation and itinerary

Len’s school reserves the right to alter accommodation venues, vehicles and itineraries of workshops and tours without notice. Len's School is not responsible for your vehicle or for clients travelling in other clients vehicles.

7.  Medical and Travel Insurance

It is a requirement that all domestic and international tour participants purchase personal medical and travel insurance (including cancellation cover) for the duration of the tour.

Len’s School is not liable for ambulance, evacuation or medical costs associated with accidents incurred during the tour or workshop. Travel insurance will also cover you for your equipment, cancellations, airfares, luggage and public liability (see individual policies for specific details).  We also recommend that all students on outdoor photography programs have personal medical insurance and ambulance cover.

8.  Media waiver

Len’s School requests that all program participants sign a media waiver permitting our use of any photographs or video footage of you taken during your time with us.  Uses may include but are not limited to our website, promotional material, social media or presentations.  Please click here to see our media waiver.

9.  Removal from program

Len's School reserves the right to remove any member of any trip should such person’s actions disrupt the operation of the trip or the rights, safety,  or enjoyment of other members of the trip. No refunds will be given in such circumstances nor will Len's School be liable for any costs associated with being removed, nor with your return home.
