questions of beauty

What is beauty? This intriguing question is the theme of a new exhibition of images by three well-known local photographers in an ongoing collaboration.

“Questions of beauty” will be showing at the Blue Mountains Heritage Centre, end of

Govetts Leap Road at Blackheath through most of October.

In this exhibition Mike Stacey, Len Metcalf and Ian Brown look at beauty from different perspectives.

Len Metcalf’s monochrome images explore the human form in natural settings, sometimes juxtaposing vulnerability with the harshness of stone.

Mike Stacey's current take on beauty is now concentrated on that which exists in various combinations of art, fashion and the human form.

Ian Brown offers a counterpoint, with natural subjects that avoid common notions of what is ‘beautiful’. His quirky wildlife images seem to ask ‘What would you know?’

The exhibition opening is at 2 pm on Saturday, 4 October. Everyone is welcome and all works are for sale.

The exhibition continues until 28 October and is open every day from 9 am to 4.30 pm.
